San Juan is nice. It's a big historic city with nice beaches and plenty to do and see.
Rincon on the west coast has great sunsets & nice beaches, especially for surfers. Very laidback feel.
Vieques & Culebra are small islands off the east side with gorgeous white sand beaches. Very quiet & relaxing
Fajardo or Luquillo on the east side are close to el Yunque rain forest. Both have beaches. Fajardo is great for boating & fishing also.
